BECOME A DONOR
Education is key to advancing the best practices of project management in Africa. We cannot produce quality project leaders in the future if we do not invest in their today’s education. So, one of our plans was to create an initiative that would help raise more awareness, promote and advance the best practices of project management in Africa, and also help produce the next generation of project leaders in the continent. That initiative is called the CareerinPM Initiative (formerly Project Management for Africa Initiative).
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. – Nelson Mandela
WHAT IS THE INITIATIVE ALL ABOUT?
CareerinPM initiative aims to help create more awareness and enlighten people about the value of project management, promote the project management profession, help individuals and organisations adopt best practices in project management, and help raise the next generation of project leaders in Africa.
Here is a summary of how we plan to create impact:
We would be introducing the basics and value of project management to primary school students (Primary 4, 5 and 6). They would be shown how people use the principles of project management to initiate, plan, organise, execute and monitor various projects. They would also see how valuable project management is to an organisation and how they contribute to the development of an economy.
We want to help secondary school students understand what it’s like to pursue a career in project management. Students would participate in fun and challenging activities, project management quiz games, and we would explore the various types of project managers with them. They would also learn how to use real world opportunities to develop their project management skills.
Universities and Colleges
We would enlighten the students on how they can start planning their careers in project management as students, how they can choose the right certifications before or after graduating, how they can search for the right mentors, how they can start developing an entrepreneur mind-set, how they can starting creating a good job search strategy if they want to venture into the corporate world, how they can become digitally-savvy project managers, and how they can prepare for job interviews.

How To Package Your Learning Materials
- Package items into strong cartons and secure using enough tape, and if possible, count the number of books or software when packing.
- Weigh the cartons and make sure each carton is not over a maximum of 25 kg. In case you don’t have a scale, you can estimate the weight by lifting the box. If you struggle to lift it, then you need to reduce or share the load. Use additional boxes if over the weight limit.
- Write the quantity and type of items on each box to make sorting easier for us.
